In this NAGBW happy hour, Alexi will discuss preparing for an interview, balancing listening with guiding the conversation, setting expectations with guests and sources, and how to respect both your guest and your audience.

About our guest: Alexi is a curious, restless person who is fascinated by people. Learning about why people make the things that they do; finding out what their goals, hopes, aspirations, and visions of success or failure are; and uncovering how they want to (or hope not to) go about doing so are all on the table when Alexi is in conversation with a source or guest. Because Alexi has worked in so many different capacities in the music and beverage industries, he brings fresh perspectives to these conversations.

Alexi is the founder of Scorched Tundra Festival, a music event in Gothenburg, Sweden and Chicago, Illinois dedicated to showcasing an eclectic, concise lineup of emerging heavy bands, as well as the founder of Heavy Hops podcast. Previously, he was the beverage director and led special events for Local Option, a highly influential Chicago beer bar from 2011-2017. He also founded Pivotal Rockordings, a record label to release music from Scandinavian death metal bands with global distribution network—and much more.
